Andrew Braggins in the news

Tue Nov. 22nd 2016

Berry Simons' partner Andrew Braggins has been quoted on the front page of the Otago Daily Times as saying that the provisions of the Dunedin City Council’s provisional Local Alcohol Policy need “to be evidence based, not emotion based”.

Andrew is appearing before the Alcohol Regulatory and Licensing Authority in Dunedin as counsel for Progressive Enterprises in support of that company’s appeal against the provisional LAP.

Progressive, which owns the Countdown and Fresh Choice supermarket chains, is one of a number of parties who have appealed against the LAP some aspects of which are seen as something of a test case, particularly in relation to off-licence sale hours.

The hearing is ongoing.
