On 14 March 2016, Berry Simons and Beca hosted a presentation by Professor Daniel Esty, one of the world’s leading experts on corporate environmental strategy. It was attended by a number of senior Resource Management practitioners, including Judge Kirkpatrick of the Environment Court.
Prof Esty is the Hillhouse Professor of Environmental Law and Policy at Yale University and co-author of the groundbreaking book, “Green to Gold: How Smart companies use Environmental Strategy to Innovate, Create Value, and Build Competitive Advantage."
Prof Esty’s presentation, entitled “How to use Environmental Strategy to Make Sustainability Commercially Viable”, provided a thought-provoking insight into how a carefully constructed corporate sustainability strategy can help companies reduce risks, cut costs, drive growth, and build brand loyalty and other dimensions of intangible value.
“I’ve followed Dan’s work for many years”, says Berry Simons partner, Sue Simons. “I was delighted that we had this opportunity to work with Beca and assist our fellow practitioners to gain some new high–level yet very practical perspectives.”
